Seams D and C — core and electrofacies synthesis
The D–C interval compares two levels of borehole control: Seam D is represented by two wells and about 4 m of banded coal, whereas Seam C is traced through five wells and is approximately 8–14 m thick with a clay parting. Both show low-gamma coal signatures, but C’s greater spatial coverage makes its continuity more defensible.

The D–C interval compares two levels of borehole control: Seam D is represented by two wells and about 4 m of banded coal, whereas Seam C is traced through five wells and is approximately 8–14 m thick with a clay parting. Both show low-gamma coal signatures, but C’s greater spatial coverage makes its continuity more defensible. The C–D interburden contains very fine sandstone, siltstone and heterolithic structures; that lithologic variability explains the more irregular log response without requiring every fluctuation to represent a discrete environmental shift.
