A2–B1, A1 and roof intervals
This page completes the upper succession: fine heterolithic A2–B1 strata pass into the mudstone–shale roof and the variable 3–10 m Seam A1, with A1–A2 interburden containing fine, locally tuffaceous sandstone. The vertical change is real at the sampled wells; its lateral persistence is interpretive.

Geological interpretation and evidential boundary
This page completes the upper succession: fine heterolithic A2–B1 strata pass into the mudstone–shale roof and the variable 3–10 m Seam A1, with A1–A2 interburden containing fine, locally tuffaceous sandstone. The vertical change is real at the sampled wells; its lateral persistence is interpretive. A tuffaceous marker can be useful, but only mineralogical or geochemical correlation can demonstrate that it is one event horizon rather than compositionally similar beds deposited at different times.
