The opening page defines the research question: how core lithology and wireline response can be integrated across Seams A1 through D in Pit N. Its abstract is best read as a map of the analytical sequence—identify coal and interburden intervals, compare gamma-ray and density behaviour, correlate the wells, then interpret vertical facies change.
The second page sets the operational and geological motivation for correlating a vertically stacked coal succession in the Muara Enim Formation. It connects the objective to regional stratigraphy and the practical need to separate seam from interburden, while also exposing the scale gap between basin-level depositional models and five-well Pit N control.
Here the manuscript moves from regional context to the actual evidence chain: borehole locations, lithologic descriptions, gamma-ray and density tracks, marker correlation and qualitative electrofacies. The environmental diagram is the paper’s highest-order interpretation. It organizes the vertical succession into changing peat-forming and clastic depositional conditions, drawing on core texture, heterolithic structures and electrofacies.
The conclusion accurately condenses the observed contrast between relatively uniform low-gamma coal seams and more variable interburden, then relates that contrast to the proposed vertical facies evolution. Its generalization is bounded by the small well set and qualitative log analysis.
